Moving and Positioning in the  Social Care and Domiciliary Care Setting – Level 1 & Level 2 

Course Outline

This course has been designed for individuals who work in the care sector particularly in care homes and domiciliary care settings. The course will cover the following:-

(a) Load

(b) Individual

(c) Task

(d) Environment

Learning Outcomes

  • Know the agreed way of working via your employer’s policies and procedures
  •  Be aware of key legislation that relates to moving and positioning
  • Know the tasks related to moving and positioning that you are allowed to carry out at the current stage of your training or job role
  • Understand how to move and position people safely whilst maintaining the individual’s dignity
  • Understand when/how to use mechanical moving and lifting equipment properly
  • Understand how to move and position objects safely

  • Duration of training 2 – 4hrs
  • Learners are required to obtain 85% pass
