COMMON INDUCTION STANDARDS – ONE DAY TRAINING COURSE
Accredited Level 1 ( OFQUAL/QAA for Higher Education)
The one day training course will provide the care worker with a good foundation and understanding of what they need to be aware of when providing care or support to people whatever their needs may be.
The common Induction will be the first step along the pathway and will continue all through the care worker career in the social care sector.
This one day course will set the care worker on track to giving high quality care and support and getting recognition for what they have learnt on the day.
The course will cover the following eight areas;
- The role of the health and social care worker
- Personal Development
- Communicating Effectively
- Equality and Inclusion
- Principles of implementing Duty of Care
- Principles of Safeguarding in Health and Social Care
- Person –Centred Support
- Health and Safety in an adult and social care
Each of the eight areas contains a number of key areas of knowledge that the care worker needs know about before they can work safely and without close supervision.
The course will cover the outcomes required for these areas. The care worker will be expected to have acquired a good understanding of these outcomes by the end of the course. They will be able to build further on their knowledge once they enter employment and have recognition from the accreditation body.
